QR Wedding is a private web application that lets wedding guests upload photos and videos into a Google Drive folder belonging to the couple (the "operator"). It exists for a single private event and is not a commercial service.
What data we process
Operator (signed in with Google):
- e-mail address, name and profile picture from the Google account, so we know who owns the folder;
- a Google OAuth access and refresh token, so the app can save photos into the folder while the operator is not signed in;
- the ID of the Google Drive folder the app created, and the texts the operator sets for guests.
Guests (no sign-in):
- the photos and videos they choose to upload;
- a name, if they fill it in voluntarily; it is added to the file name so the couple knows who to thank;
- technical data needed to run the service (IP address in server logs, browser type).
Google account access
The app uses the restricted drive.file permission. It can see and manage only the
files and folder it created itself. It has no access to the rest of the operator's Google Drive.
It also uses the email and profile permissions to show the signed-in account's name and e-mail.
Where data is stored
- Photos and videos are saved directly into the operator's Google Drive. They stay on our server only for a few seconds while being transferred, then are deleted.
- Sign-in tokens, the folder ID and settings are stored in the app's database at the hosting provider.
- Data is not shared with any third party other than Google (Google Drive) and the hosting provider that technically stores it.
Who can see uploaded photos
The couple, as owners of the folder. The gallery on the guest page shows thumbnails of uploaded photos to anyone holding the link from the QR code, i.e. the wedding guests. By uploading a photo you agree that other guests may see it. Please do not upload photos of people who would not agree to that.
Cookies
Only strictly necessary cookies are used: one for the operator's sign-in and one to remember the chosen language. No analytics or advertising cookies.
Retention and deletion
Photos remain in the couple's Google Drive until they decide to delete them. Sign-in tokens and settings are deleted once the event is over, at the latest when the app is shut down. The operator can revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Your rights
If you uploaded a photo and want it removed, or have any question about data processing, contact the operator (the couple). You have the right to access, correct and delete your data.
Use of Google API data
This app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
